My name is Lindsey Sarria, and I am a photographer based in New York City who brings life to imagery through my use of color. My work centers around exploring time and its relationship to the things I hold dear, transient and enduring. Through my lens, there is an insatiable curiosity and genuine care for my subjects. I investigate how they exist within the shifting landscape of time—often revealing a quiet tension between change and continuity. By referencing vintage advertisements and using a more muted color palette, I want to evoke a feeling of nostalgia. In my process of using modern equipment and editing with reference to another point in time– I want to prompt a deeper awareness of the present and its connections to the past–how history, memory, and personal experiences intersect.
